Dr. McGruder
Crestview Animal Hospital in Cumming excels largely due to its skilled and caring staff.

John P. McGruder, DVM is the owner of Crestview Animal Hospital, having opened the clinic in 1983 on this same site. Crestview is appropriately named with its view of the rolling summit of Sawnee Mountain.

Dr. McGruder obtained his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri in 1973. He is known for his clinical skills and experience as well as his quiet, gentle manner with all of the animals in his care.


Robert "Ben" Benson, DVM was awarded his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1990 by the University of Georgia. He has been a smiling presence here at Crestview for 17 years. Dr. Benson is a native of North Georgia, and is of course well known in Forsyth County.

Dr. David Sewell is a native of Marietta and obtained his veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Sewell completed an additional year of training at Louisiana School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sewell has been practicing in Forsyth County for seven years and he has special interests in internal medicine, oncology, dermatology and surgery. He has been with our practice at Crestview since June 2008.


Jenny E. Kopp attended the University of Georgia and was authorized to practice Veterinary Medicine in Georgia in May 1993 by the State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kopp has been practicing with us since July 2006.

Sridevi Vavilapalli (also known as Dr. Sri) was certified by the American Veterinary Medical Association to practice Veterinary Medicine in April 2007. Dr. Sri has been practicing at Crestview since that time.

Some 25 other staff members including veterinary assistants, kennel and grooming assistants, and front office personnel, support Dr. McGruder and the other veterinary physicians in caring for your pets.
