Dr. Cherry
Dr. Katherine Cherry is a local at heart as she was born and raised right here in Alpharetta, Georgia. She obtained her B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Veterinary Medicine with a minor in Spanish. She then moved to Ohio for 4 years to attend The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2023.
Dr. Cherry’s special interests include cardiology, reproductive medicine, and surgery– due in large part to her experiences during and immediately after veterinary school. While in school, Dr. Cherry had the opportunity to study under and complete research with the head of Cardiology at Ohio State’s Veterinary School, Dr. Schober. She subsequently participated in a research paper that was published in JAVMA earlier this year. Dr Cherry also got additional experience in theriogenology through an externship with Dr. Hutchinson– a seasoned and widely accomplished board certified theriogenologist. Additionally, Dr. Cherry worked at a reproduction based general practice for her first year out of school. Dr. Cherry is excited to be a part of the team here at Crestview Animal Hospital & Emergency and have the opportunity to explore and develop her special interests further.
During her spare time, Dr. Cherry enjoys spending time outdoors, horse back riding, dancing a variety of styles, singing, volunteering at church, spending time with friends and family and of course with her two adorable fur baby pups, a golden retriever named Fuego and a recent rescue named Bagheera.
